News

The Enidi now has its own website at www.theenidi.org. Your username, password and personal information from the Enid site have been copied over to the new system, so you can still log on in the same way. We're still working on the content, but expect to have lots more to see as time goes on. We've been listening to your feedback and will be featuring the live streams from our new Wednesday live Facebook sessions amongst other things.

Paypal Subscription Cancellations

All Paypal subscriptions are linked to the website upon which they were created and this cannot be changed for security reasons. Because of this, we have cancelled all the existing automatic subscription payments. This does not mean that your membership has expired! Your membership will be active until the anniversary of your last payment, at which time you will receive an email inviting you to rejoin. We're sorry for the hassle, but we wanted to ensure that we kept everything secure and on the level.

How to Re-Join

We've tried to make this as simple as possible. Once you log in to www.theenidi.org,  "My Enidi Account" will appear at the top right of the screen. Click this and you will see the option to renew your membership. While you're there, please take the time to check that we have your name and address details registered correctly so that we can send the annual gift when it's ready.

I hope this all makes sense. If not, you can contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call 01604 25168 and I'll help you out.

As you may already be aware, the full team here at the Lodge have been working quietly on our new project, converting the green room into a fully functional streaming studio. This means you can expect to see us and friends working, writing, performing and discussing what is on the horizon as we venture forwards. In addition, RJG will be making guest appearances.

We will be coming to you live from the Lodge this Wednesday evening and every fortnight following for the foreseeable future. Streamed to your PC, mobile, tablet or smart-TV and sound system from the band’s rehearsal studio in Northampton via our Facebook page.

We were going to be broadcasting every Thursday but please take note, it will now be broadcast on Wednesday.

WATCH THE FUTURE TAKING SHAPE

This is the perfect time to let you know about one of our new compatriots, Jarrod Elks, who you can expect to see this Wednesday, performing with Jason and myself. He has only just begun playing with us but is an extremely talented musician and very excited to be on board.

LAST WORDS

Tune in at 7 pm on Wednesday 8th November on our Facebook page  and come join us in our home as we perform for you.

In case you are not already, please join us on Facebook and Instagram to hear and see more regular updates on what we're up to!

P.S. Any queries surrounding Enidi subscriptions will be dealt with immediately if you could please email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Thank you ever so much for sticking with us through this transitional period (feels like we've been transitioning forever!) but your support has been crucial to us getting through it and we now feel we are on the rise again.

Enidi Firebird 800x565DOMINIC TOFIELD

Dom is leaving the band to teach drumming at a school in Tamil Nadu, Southern India. He leaves as a good friend. Without his drive and enthusiasm, the band would not have got to where they are today. He leaves us with an enigmatic and highly symbolic drawing as a parting gift.

Dom’s Vision

Zach and Jason inside an egg. The Enidi curled up into a nest. A Phoenix bird providing the history, protection, and inspiration. All set against the image the uncertain tomorrow in which the egg will hatch. (Click the picture to see full size.)

JASON AND ZACH – BACK TO THE FUTURE

Resurgency was what it was. A therapy to repair and restore the spirit of The Enid. A vehicle of self-discovery.

Zach and Jason have formed a strong musical friendship and are in for the long haul. They really want to re-explore the best of the band’s output from the last four decades and bring it to the generations who have never heard of any of it.

New music will come in its own time. RJG will continue to lend a guiding hand to Jason and Zach. Next week the three of them are off to Ant’s House in East Germany to learn about things like cadences, voice leading, auxiliary chords, the tricks of modulation and how to avoid being in root position all the time.

ROBERT JOHN GODFREY AND THE ENID UNPLUGGED

The band’s plan is to work out the way to make live performances as dynamic and emotional as ever without the obligatory drum kit demanded of main stream rock.  There are just six weeks before the show at The Citadel in St Helens in October. RJG together with Zach and Jason will be showing you how this can happen.

THE CITADEL ST HELENS

We have one more very special show planned for you this year, at The Citadel, St Helens. The show will take place on Saturday 21 October, and will feature RJG, Jason, and Zach. This promises to be a truly memorable night. Tickets are £16 and available from here.

THE ENIDI CONVENTION SAT 17TH MARCH 2018

The band will be performing at The Enidi Convention to be held as usual at The Black Prince in Northampton on Sat 17th March.

THE ENID AT HOME

Friendly Monthly Get-Togethers - Good Conversation - Curry -  Music & More

The Enid have always enjoyed a close relationship with their fans and “fellow travelers”, and this is going to continue and develop more closely than in the recent past.

Look out for RJG’s curry nights, impromptu parties, musical seminars and philosophical debate.

VIRTUALLY LIVE

Operation Thursday Launches 9th Nov 8:30 pm

Full live performances may not be on the agenda for a while, but this certainly doesn’t mean that you’ll miss seeing Jason and Zach (and RJG) playing together regularly.

In fact, you’re going to be able to see them playing more often than the band has done in the past, streamed to your PC, mobile, tablet or smart-TV and sound system from the band’s rehearsal studio in Northampton.

WATCH THE FUTURE TAKING SHAPE

The Green Room at The Lodge has been substantially refurbished as a performance and broadcast studio which is capable of broadcasting HD audio and video performances streamed over the internet to a combination of Facebook and specialist YouTube (and other channel sources).

With the show at the Citadel fast approaching, we are making a final call to try and persuade you that you don't want to miss this one-off performance. The reality of the situation is that when the gig was originally booked we had a full outfit with Dom, however, since his departure we were left with a situation of either cancelling the show or pulling something special together.

As you know we have decided to go ahead with the show, and thus have put a lot of time into creating a very special unique set for you, featuring many tracks from the back catalogue that haven't been heard live for years.

This will be your last chance to see the band perform this year and the only chance to see some of these tracks performed live with RJG. We are however in a rather sticky situation financially and if we don't get a good turnout this Saturday we will really be up against it.

Jason and I are planning to write and record a new album when we get back from the gig, much of which we have already made a start on, however, we will be forced to spend more time pursuing other sources of income rather than spending the time needed to produce a new album.

We know it has been a long time coming for you and ourselves to hear something completely new and fresh, and we really hope we can deliver, but a lot of it is riding on this gig being a success. Therefore we are making one last plea to you to come along to the show, or if you already have a ticket or can't make it, to tell your friends and family.

We promise you won't be disappointed.

Thank you for all your support over the years, we're looking forward to what the future holds.

Tickets available from here

All the best,

Zach

On Saturday, August 5th, I will be joining forces with The Enid for a special concert at London’s wonderful Union Chapel to celebrate my 70th birthday with all my friends, past present and future. I do hope that you will come. Tickets are available from here (or here if you are a member of The Enidi).
