24-bit FLAC files of The Enid

If the re-issues are mastered from 24/96 captures, would it be possible to sell 24/96 FLAC files through the Shop as an option for those who no longer buy the 16-bit CDs?

I see there is a possibility of 24-bit DVD-A re-issues, but with the supposed onset of "Liquid" music would the 24-bit FLAC files (and 16-bit too) be more future-proof and more economic to distribute than discs?

Also very handy for Inner Sanctum to use to produce bootleg CDs methinks.

I was trying to raise a positive request about future releases, not well-worn negative bootlegging possibilities.
I'm sure Inner $anctum could equally employ EAC, DVDFab or download the files.

For my two pen'orth, I suggest that there's enough work making the music available for the 'mainstream' at the moment. Remastering for a plethora of potential future formats may be a little way down the road.

Believe me, I would love to make the material available in HD formats now. EMI are going to take on digital distribution, so I can't just go ahead and stick HD versions on the shop at the moment. We discussed this very topic this afternoon. If EMI are not going to release in other formats, the chances are that we can do so ourselves eventually but will have to go through the correct channels. It is frustrating as the data is sitting in front of me. Please bare with us.

I don't speak on behalf of the band, I'm a forum moderator, not a band member. My opinion "well-worn" or otherwise is surely as valid as any other? As you correctly state "The agenda belongs to The Enid". As to my fears, well thats a whole other topic.

I'm keen to replenish my memories and collection with the new remasters, but I'll hold on to see whether 24-bit releases become available. I'd welcome an update as soon as you have one.

Has there been any progress towards a 24-bit issue of the recent re-masters, be it DVD or Download?

Time is limited so priorities are re-pressing catalogue on CD (most people are happy with the quality , new music, web site etc. Sorry about the wait. We will get there in the end.

I'd love to get hold of 24bit Enid albums!

DVD-A preferred but I'll take a paid download in a heartbeat.


BTW, I read on the Enid website ages ago about releasing all the albums in 5.1. Is this still going ahead? 5.1 would be incredible.
