Never sure why those two are largely ignored. Before you go 'urrrgh', dust them off, give them a listen and imagine B'Ham with the CBSO. Oh yus.

Here's a thought

Touch Me - overlooked live for so long. The only of the original albums in need of a bit of redux in the studio (original line up or current band) because of the depth of fidelity / clarity on the original Pye release. I love it as it is anyway but it could rise to something else if done live with the orchestra. 2nd keyboard player ? Nah ...90 extra pairs of hands should do it. Take that one right through to its full orceshtral zenith but make sure the guitar cuts through. :D

Agreed. I've been sorry to see "Touch Me" neglected so far, and it would sound great with orchestra.

As for a redux version, I would just like to see a good remastering / remix of the original. I hope that's on the cards.

Why not have a whole Enid prom season, I am sure we could raise the funds between us all, perhaps also book bands related to the Enid also or a Enid Festival maybe :D

Totally agree with the shout outs for 'Touch Me' (which also really needs some remastering/remix attention), especially 'Elegy' and 'Albion Fair'.

'Autumn' would be superb with orchestra.

I would also love Robert to roam amongst the crowd with a radio mic (leg permitting!) singing '666 The Great Bean' ;)

666 the great bean, he could also perform golden earrings and the Skye boat song, now that would be interesting...... :D

Oops! Just realised it should of course be 665 The Great Bean. I suspect RJG is keeping a tally of errors like this to berate us about at the convention! ;)

Totally agree. Loved the band in the 70's, then women, drink, etc, got in the way....Really in to Orbital, Future Sound of London, 808 state, etc...The late 80's / early 90's were going swimmingly - then I went to see RJG , Nick May and Steve Hughes (RJG on bass pedals). It was a fiver to get in, Swindon 1994. Expected all the old faves - What I received was basically an album I had never heard b4 - 'Gateway' onwards.

Superb. Even 17 years later, I can remember every minute. Pure brilliance.

Re: Fan Song Requests - Symphony Hall Show 2012

Fandman, wish I had been there. I was still in Windsor in the UK at that time so can't think why I missed it. I was also listening to allsorts (DJing) mid-late 80s and early 90s so receptive and suitably impressed by what the band came up with on Tripping. Great album. And since you mentioned it .. yeah ... throw Gateway in too, that'll raise the temperature rather nicely. Actually, you may have noticed there is a planetesque sequence from The Biscuit Game that has become part of the third section of Malacandra (probably my favourite track from JE), so technically I suppose we have been treated to a few seconds of Trippin' at recent gigs :o But I want moooooore.

I personally think the idea of playing the WHOLE of Journey's End from start to finish is wearing a bit thin, and should be knocked on the head in favour of reviving some of these 'hidden gems' .

P.S. RJG on bass pedals? 5 quid?? Fantastic. I wonder why Max wasn't there?
